The outreach efforts of Goleta Prepare Now are two-fold, one, to use all resources available to share disaster education information; two, to outreach and ensure that the needs and concerns of our community are addressed in emergency preparedness.
Community Disaster Education (CDE)
presentation helps the Goleta community be aware of the natural and human-caused hazards that threaten our area, and educates our community members to better protect themselves, their family and their property. The City of Goleta in partnership with the Santa Barbara County Chapter of the American Red Cross, offers free CDE presentations at businesses, residential gatherings, and community organizations through Goleta Prepare Now. Classes are approximately 60 minutes, including time for questions.
CDEs are provided in both English and Spanish.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
CERT Training is designed to prepare you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster. Because emergency services personnel will not be able to help everyone immediately, you can make a difference by using the training in this 24-hour class to save lives and protect property.
This training covers basic skills that are important to know in a disaster when emergency services are not available. With training and practice and by working as a team, you will be able to do the greatest good for the greatest number after a disaster, while protecting yourself from becoming a victim.
