City Applauds Goleta Public Works Director during National Public Works Week
In honor of National Public Works Week, we want to give a big shout out to our Director of Public Works and City Engineer Charlie Ebeling. Charlie grew up in Santa Barbara (Go Royals!) and has been with the City of Goleta for two years. He has more than 23+ years of experience as a Licensed Civil Engineer and is also a Traffic Engineer. His specialty is roadway and bridge design. We are so happy to have him as part of our team and leading the Public Works Department! Some fun facts about Charlie are that he was a commercial diver, certified Master Mechanic, and has worked as a chef in a restaurant. His favorite quote is “If you come to a fork in the road, take it,” by Yogi Berra.
Before the COVID-19 crisis, we had the opportunity to go on a ride along with Charlie and he showed us what Public Works does and some of what they are working on: https://youtu.be/LIK_BG2w9k0. Be sure and check out this informative ride-along!
There is still time to send thank you emails to the City's Public Works Department this week. We have already received several kind messages and are passing them on to our Public Works Team who is very appreciative of the positive comments! You can let Public Works know what a great job they are doing either by sharing your comments publicly on our Facebook page (@CityofGoleta) under this story, or by sending an email to PIO@CityofGoleta.org that will be passed along. Let’s flood their e-mail with letters of thanks from the community!
