The National Weather Service has issued a Tsunami Advisory for coastal areas of Santa Barbara County on July 29 due to an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 8.7 that occurred off the coast of Russia. Local tsunami waves are currently anticipated at 12:50 a.m. tomorrow morning, July 30.

You are advised to stay out of the water, and away from beaches and waterways

The tsunami watch will remain in effect until further notice. Refer to tsunami.gov for more information.
