Goleta Storm Impacts for February 16, 2026

Highway 101 southbound near Fairview Avenue was closed earlier today, February 16, due to a large eucalyptus tree that had fallen across the highway blocking all southbound lanes and the fast lane northbound. According to County Fire, all northbound lanes are now open and one southbound lane has been opened. However, the Fairview Avenue southbound on-ramp will remain closed for several hours for additional clean-up. Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the area.

Goleta Public Works staff is responding to storm related issues in Goleta. To report non-emergency issues in Goleta use City Assist at www.cityofgoleta.org/cityassist.

Be prepared as more rain is in the forecast throughout the week.

The National Weather Service has issued the following advisories, watches, and warning for Santa Barbara County.  

  • Flood Advisory till 2:00 p.m.
  • Wind Advisory till 6:00 p.m.
  • Flood Watch till 9:00 p.m.
