We hope you will join us for the Goleta City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 3rd at 5:30 p.m. (closed session begins at 5:00 p.m.). We encourage you to come in-person to Council Chambers, watch live, or participate via Zoom. Directions for how to do so can be found below.

Items on the agenda include:

  • The City Council will proclaim March 7-14 as Arbor Week in the City of Goleta. National Arbor Week is a special week for the planting of trees and has been celebrated nationally and throughout the world since 1872. The California State Assembly and Senate established March 7th through March 14th of each year as California Arbor Week. Trees beautify our community, are a renewable resource, and are a source of joy and spiritual renewal. All residents are urged to celebrate Arbor Week by planting and maintaining trees to promote the well-being of this and future generations. Read the proclamation here: https://tinyurl.com/mpdc7br8.

  • The Council will receive a presentation from Tri-County Regional Energy Network (3C-REN) on its energy programs, offerings, and Goleta's participation. 3C-REN is a partnership between the Counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura, established to deliver energy-saving programs and industry trainings that help reduce energy use, strengthen local job markets, and support efforts to achieve climate goals. 3C-REN supports the City of Goleta’s goals to protect the environment and enhance quality of life. • The City Council will also receive a presentation from the Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce on its 5-year Strategic Plan (Plan). The Plan outlines the objectives, priorities, and methods of the Chamber over the next five years. It was developed over a year-long strategic planning process. Elements of the strategic plan cover community support, government partnerships, and regional economic development initiatives. • The City Council will discuss work priorities and adopt the Annual Work Program for Fiscal Year 2026-27 for the Planning and Environmental Review Department and General Services Department. The purpose of these workshops is to update the Council on existing work commitments and progress and to provide the Council an opportunity to discuss work priorities for each Department. The Annual Work Program also summarizes work progress and accomplishments for the past fiscal year, FY 2025-26, and lays the groundwork for the Department’s mid-cycle budget.
