Final Few Spots Remain for Goleta’s CERT Class

Do you want to be able to respond effectively during and after a disaster? Limited spots remain for the City of Goleta's free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training course which begins Monday, August 3. CERT is a high demand program offered nationwide that is designed to empower residents with essential skills and knowledge to prepare themselves, their families, and the community for emergencies and disasters.

This hands-on course is held on eight (8) Mondays at the Goleta Community Center (5679 Hollister Avenue). In order to participate, you must be able to attend all eight classes and be at least 18 years of age. Limited spots are available - sign up here.

Dates: August 3, 10, 17, 31, September 14, 28, October 5 and 12

Time: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Participants will learn disaster preparedness, fire safety, basic first aid, search and rescue techniques, and teamwork - all taught by experienced CERT instructors. No prior experience is required, and all materials are provided. If you’ve been meaning to get trained or are looking for a practical way to support your community, now is the perfect time. This will be the last CERT Basic Course offered this year in Goleta; more sessions will be offered next year.
