General Municipal Elections

Nov. 3 Election Day Calendar_FB

The City of Goleta consolidates its General Municipal Elections with Santa Barbara County Elections Division. The General Municipal Elections are in conjunction with statewide elections, scheduled on the first Tuesday of November of even-numbered years. As the City’s Election Official and, in compliance with the California Elections Code, the City Clerk oversees administration of municipal elections and election services.

In 2018 the Mayor was elected-at-large for a two-year-term. City Council members are elected at-large for a four-year term.  Council members serve "staggered" terms, meaning that 2 seats are open for election every two years.
