Butterfly Docents 

Due to the conditions on the Ellwood Mesa, the Ellwood Main Monarch Aggregation Site (aka Goleta Butterfly Grove) and other aggregation areas on the Ellwood Mesa not be providing education programs this year. Butterfly docents are needed  for the Goleta MOVES program at Evergreen Park for the 2019-20 season and will be utilized to assist with alternate education and outreach programs.  Individuals interested in this opportunity are asked to contact JoAnne Plummer at 805-562-5505 or  complete the  Volunteer Application Form and Insurance Waiver and send to

Goleta Valley Library 

There are many different volunteer opportunities at the Goleta Valley Library. Teens ages 14 and older can earn Community Service credit by: helping prepare for children’s craft programs, cleaning materials, shelving items, assisting staff with special projects, and helping with the Summer Reading Club. Adults can: check in books that are arriving from other libraries to fill hold requests, look for hold items on our shelves, repair books, help find missing items, and more. If you are interested, please fill out a City of Goleta Volunteer Application Form (there is a separate one for minors) and email it to or drop it off at the Library (500 N. Fairview Avenue).
