The City of Goleta has a commemorative program to honor a loved one. If you are interested in having a bench and plaque placed at a City of Goleta park, please see process below: 

1. The first step is deciding which Park you would like to install the bench, currently there is limited availability at Lake Los Carneros or Ellwood Mesa.  

2. Next, to determine the exact location of your bench:

• Provide three (3) pinned location options and email George Thomson, gthomson@cityofgoleta.gov.
  
  
• The City's Park and Open Space Manager will review the spaces and let you know which one is approved. The approved location should be recorded on the attached application form. 

An initial deposit of $1,600 is needed (per bench) to begin the process. All costs (bench, plaque, engraving, shipping & installation) are deducted from this amount. If costs exceed the $1,600, you will be invoiced the balance.

*If there is money remaining after all costs have been incurred, you will receive a refund for the remaining amount. The entire process takes approximately 6-8 weeks.
