The South County Energy Efficiency Partnership is a collaboration between Southern California Gas Company®, the County of Santa Barbara, and the Cities of Goleta, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara. Its mission is to build positive relationships among cities, energy consumers, and their serving utilities, and to educate communities about sustainable and efficient energy practices in the southern Santa Barbara County area.

The 3C-REN is a collaboration among three California Central Coast local government agencies, including Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo, working together to deliver regional energy efficiency programs that meet local needs and help reduce energy use, carbon emissions, and meet the goals of local climate action plans.
The City of Goleta committed to moving the city’s municipal facilities and community-wide electricity supply to 100% renewable electricity by 2030. To meet these goals and to improve the reliability and resiliency of the local energy grid, the Strategic Energy Plan was developed to provide a roadmap to reach 100% renewable energy and was unanimously adopted by City Council on July 16, 2019.
In 2019 the Goleta City Council voted to join Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP), a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) electricity provider. Community Choice Aggregation enables cities, counties and other authorized entities that aggregate electricity demand within their jurisdictions to purchase and/or generate electricity supplies for their residents and businesses. Joining a CCE allows the City of Goleta to support the City Council adopted 100% renewable energy goal outlined in the Strategic Energy Plan.
