Public Outreach Summary
The City completed a series of public Planning Commission workshops. Each workshop focused on a limited number of topic areas of Coastal Commission staff-proposed revisions. Below is a summary of those workshops:
Planning Commission Workshop #4 - February 9, 2026
The City of Goleta hosted a Planning Commission workshop on the City’s LCP project on Monday, February 9th. This was the fourth in a series of Planning Commission workshops.
Workshop #4 addressed Coastal Commission staff-proposed revisions to Public facility, Water Conservation, Transportation and Water Quality policies. Below is the staff report, presentation, and recording for the fourth workshop:
The tables below identified changes to Goleta General Plan/Coastal Land Use Plan recommended by California Coastal Commission staff for the LCP. These proposed revisions were discussed at the workshop:

Planning Commission Workshop #1 - December 8, 2025
The City of Goleta hosted a Planning Commission workshop on the City’s LCP project on Monday, December 8th. The first in a series of Planning Commission workshops.
The purpose of the workshop was to (1) introduce the Planning Commission and public to the concept and significance of an LCP and (2) get initial feedback from the Planning Commission and the public on draft LCP policies by subject area. The topics discussed at this workshop included: Archaeology and Paleontology, Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Areas (ESHA), and Oil and Gas. General Plan Amendments Initiation Hearing to Obtain a Certified Local Coastal Program - August 20, 2024
