Planning Commission Workshop #1 - December 8, 2025

The City of Goleta hosted a Planning Commission workshop on the City’s Local Coastal Program (LCP) project on Monday, December 8th. The first in a series of Planning Commission workshops. 

The purpose of the workshop was to (1) introduce the Planning Commission and public to the concept and significance of an LCP and (2) get initial feedback from the Planning Commission and the public on draft LCP policies by subject area. The topics discussed at this workshop included: Archaeology and Paleontology, Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Areas (ESHA), and Oil and Gas. The tables below identify changes to Goleta General Plan/Coastal Land Use Plan recommended by California Coastal Commission staff for the LCP. These proposed revisions were discussed at the workshop:
