Goleta's General Plan - Transportation Element, Chapter 7.0 provides the guidelines in creating a community that promotes the safe and effective transportation of goods and provides mobility for all segments of the population. This includes bikeway plans, pedestrian circulation, rail transportation, public transit, etc.

Alternative Modes of Transportation

Goleta Train Depot
The Goleta Train Depot Project is the development of a new multi-modal train station next to the existing Amtrak platform on South La Patera Lane with the intent to increase rail ridership. 

Metropolitan Transit District
As a part of MTD's regular bus schedule, there are a number of routes serving Goleta

Santa Barbara Airport
Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) has more than 22 daily nonstop flights on American Airlines, Alaska, Southwest and United to 10 major destination hubs, equaling endless options.

Traffic Solutions
Traffic Solutions promotes and encourages alternatives to driving alone, with the goals of reducing traffic congestion, air pollution and vehicle miles driven as well as improving the quality of life for employees, visitors, and residents of Santa Barbara County. The Santa Barbara County Bike Map is one of the most popular items produced by Traffic Solutions.
